Visual Chronicles of Barcelona

Taken March 19-27, 2002, on my trip to Barcelona with Jim Kaysen, Pamela Wiesen and Michael Vickerman. Great food, good company, warm and hospitable locals, amazing architecture - what a place!

Most of the museums, churches and architectural sites that we visited did not allow photography, so a great deal of what we saw is not documented here. The Museu d'Historia Ciutat, Santa Maria del Mar, Santa Maria del Pi, La Seu, the Museu Maritim, the interiors of all the Gaudi houses, the Palau de la Musica Catalana, etc., were all amazing in their different ways...those things are not well represented below. And unfortunately, we were so busy eating that I didn't take any pictures of the outstanding dinners we had!

These pages are photo-intensive, so please allow time for all the shots to download. Each thumbnail is linked to a larger version of the same shot, so if you want to see more detail, just click on the small picture.
